From August 2008-August 2012, I had a book blog, Read React Review (originally Racy Romance Reviews).

From September 2012-January 2013, I started a couple of new blogs, which didn’t take.

In January 2013, I forced myself to endure a month long book buying ban, sank into my TBR, and realized I needed a place to talk about those languishing, unheralded books. Mostly in the romance genre.

On February 1, 2013, The Hypeless Romantic was born.

On August 13, 2013 I published my last Hypeless Romantic post.

From May 2014 – March 2017 I wrote (mainly about romance) for Book Riot.

I began reviewing romance for Kirkus in 2016, which I still do.

  1. Hi, Jessica. I recently stumbled upon your old blog – Read React Review – while I was on the hunt for Sookie. Oh yes, I am a hardcore Sookieholic. In addition to the books, I also love to read about what others think about the books too. I read your reviews of the first six books, and I absolutely love your analysis and insight into the Sookieverse. Just wanted to let you know that. I was wondering if you’ve continued reading the series and have any plans to blog your review of those books or the final book coming out in May? Thank you, J.

    1. Hi Julie, I am sorry it took me so long to see your comment and reply. I have read more of the Sookie books than I’ve reviewed, but I am still behind overall. If I read more, I will definitely wan to talk about them here. Thanks so much for your kind words!

  2. Thanks so much for visiting my new blog, and following! I don’t know if it’ll take or not… there are a gazillion romance reading/review blogs. But I finally decided to give it a go, and now I’m trying to figure out Twitter and Goodreads, though I probably should be working on a new post. I am thrilled to discover The Hypeless Romantic, and sorry I missed out on Read React Review!

    1. Hang in there. I have seen a number of dark horse blogs that toiled in obscurity only to finally get the wide readership and appreciation they deserved after months or years!
